Electronic immobilizer

If you see a yellow car sign on the dashboard of your Volkswagen vehicle, it means electronic immobilizer.

The immobilizer warning symbol active on when your anti-theft system does not recognize the car key being used, if it's the wrong key or low on battery.

What the immobilizer warning light symbol means;

If driver first start the engine, electronic immobilizer light will illuminate for a few seconds showing that the correct key has been used. If the car does not recognize key code, the light will flash multiple times.

Make sure your car key battery is full.

When you see this immobilizer error on dashboard, remove and reinsert your key.

When the ignition key is removed from the vehicle, the system automatically activates, providing extra protection against theft.

The other name of the immobilizer system is the code system. With this password system, the engine is electronically blocked. When the driver key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder, the electronic code generator located on the driver key sends a code to the electronic control module of the system via the ring-shaped antenna on the ignition key.
